During summer vacation, my family always go camping with a large group of out friends. A couple who goes on this trip and are friends with my parents (about 40 years old) both had an affair on their spouses to be with each other. (Let’s call the man Bob) While we all get along, I’m beginning to get concerned. I’m friends with the Bob’s daughter so I spend a lot of time with them too, and sometimes I’ll text Bob seeing as his daughter never has her phone on. We get along and I always thought he was pretty cool.
However, my parents took me aside recently telling me to stop texting him because it was "odd." They said Bob was joking about how I always text him, but I’ve only texted him like three times and always about stuff relating to all of us. However he texts me a lot, once referring to me as a "ho", jokingly.
I told one of my friends and now he’s also noticing signs that he’s interested or acting flirty with me. I was really angry at my parents at first for assuming we had a "thing" because he was so much older, but now i’m wondering are they right? Or am i just getting paranoid? Please help!
I’m 18 btw.
The majority of his texts ask me where I am or what I’m doing, half of the time he sees me so I think it’s pointless.
Sometimes he’ll tease me about some thing and I DID tease him back because I thought he was just trying to be funny, but now I’m afraid that he’s taking that as a sign of interest.
But for all I know he might just be trying to be friendly and I don’t want to blow it all out of proportion :/
